The Citrus County School District is now using Canvas as our learning management system that supports online learning and teaching.  This platform allows our teachers to post grades, information, and assignments online. Canvas provides the tools to support online learning in a variety of ways.

Canvas will be especially important if the district is forced to move into distance learning due to an emergency within the county.

Below we have posted many resources for students and parents to help navigate them through this platform.

Tips for Students Completing Work in Canvas

Edit tools missing in Canvas - What should students do if they do not have the “edit tools” when they work on assignments?

  • Ideally, teachers need to make sure that what they are asking students to complete are pdfs. Students can then use the Canvas edit tools.

  • Students should log in through the Canvas app rather than ClassLink to get the option to open it in Safari and then Mark Up a document (from the iPads “Open in” up arrow option.

  • If it is a Google Doc or Slides, teachers need to give Canvas access to their Google Drive and GSuite account. Teachers need to make sure they use the plug in the Rich Text Editor and allow the assignment to use (access) their Google Drive.

My content doesn’t play/ buttons are missing.

  • Make sure you are logging in through the Canvas student app and then opening the content when prompted in Safari. Make sure the iPad is turned sideways - in “Landscape” view – rather than up and down (where the Home button is at the bottom of the iPad).

I am missing courses when I look in Canvas -what do I do?

  • Have the student log into ClassLink first and then tap the Canvas app. On the left side, choose Courses and then to the right tap All courses. Some courses may be in there as Unpublished. Teachers need to publish their courses. Parents should reach out to those teachers.

I attend WTC as a student. What is my login information?

  • WTC student login info is the same as the one for CCSB students except it is the last 4 digits of the student number. The password is the same St####### format as well. The portal /process for logging into Canvas is the same as other CCSB students.
