Inverness Middle School Newsletter................April 2019

A Message from the Principal:

In today’s world there are many critics. Many times, people can be judgmental and dismissive of others as we travel along on this great journey of life.

This month at Inverness Middle we celebrate GRIT. We celebrate the doer, the person who may not be doing it right or perfect but they are working hard, persisting, trying to improve, and not giving up. We celebrate those that are in the arena, those taking the risk to get started, those that press on despite setbacks and obstacles. People often see successful people and think “they must have always been that way.”

However, this is contrary to what actually happens with people. Successful people come from every background imaginable. Successful people say they failed a lot. Successful people failed big. Successful people were ordinary people that applied passion and perseverance to their life.

Successful people do have one thing different from unsuccessful people. They do not give up. Think for a moment about people who you consider successful… perhaps they might not have been in your thoughts if they had given up. We have very successful people all around us. You just have to look for them to see. I see successful students every day. So if you see someone trying and persisting, give them some encouragement. You could be the one that helps that person breakthrough their own limits and build the grit that leads to a successful victory.
